BIO
Frank Obano is a Toronto-based Industrial Designer currently studying in the Industrial Design program at OCAD University (Toronto, Ontario). He is the founder of seebeyondreality studios where he designs homeware products and clothing apparel for a niche audience.
As a child, Frank was exposed to a wide variety of cartoons well into his late teens, which helped shape his vivid imagination. This influence is why his work doesn’t mimic what one would typically see in the real world. His designs often feature bright colors and wavy lines, drawing heavily from the playful aesthetics of cartoons. Through his work, he aims to create products that stand out with their distinctive shapes while maintaining full functionality for optimal use.
Frank is currently prepping for the second release of a clothing hanger he designed for his studio named HANGER-03, which was initially released in June 2024. He is also currently a student monitor in the Plastics Studio of OCAD University, where he has taken up projects of designing and fabricating a vacuum plug for the studio's large vacuum former, and is also currently in the process of designing and fabricating an OCAD U Plastic Studio designated pen.
