Description
Vision-07 is an exploration of the creative potential of plexiglass and acrylic materials. Inspired by one of Balenciaga’s iconic eyewear designs, these glasses have been reimagined to align with seebeyondreality studios’ distinctive aesthetic, blending material innovation with intrigue to create captivating products.
Design Process
The fabrication of Vision-07 followed a structured design process, beginning with initial sketches to determine the overall form and how it would fit on the face. To refine the design, I studied various safety glasses to establish key measurements, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit.
3D MODEL
With a clear direction, I developed a 3D model using Shapr3D, allowing for a detailed visualization of the aesthetics and proportions before fabrication.
LASER-CUT FILE
Once the design was finalized, I created an Illustrator file for laser cutting and began experimenting with different colored acrylic sheets, cutting the material using a bandsaw, and refining the shape with a sander.
NOSE BRIDGE
To make the glasses sit comfortably on the face, I fabricated a nose bridge, 3D printed it, and super glued it to the glasses.
